DEAD FUNNY (2022)- WINNER of Straight 8 2022

In November 2021 I was asked by one of my fellow film students on the directing course to produce an entry into the 2022 Straight 8 Competition (https://www.straight8.net/). A competition I am happy to announce we WON and our film premiered at BFI Southbank.

This competition involves filming a 3 minute video on one roll of film with a Super 8 camera. I was tasked with putting together a producing team, managing the budget, finding the locations, actors and much more.

 

The idea we came up with was of a mime artist having a heart attack and then having a funeral, but is all exactly as it seems?
